For more precise woodworking preference i grinding tips. The tips on the rods allow for very precise hole placement. They also reduce splitting, resulting in a very clean hole due to the tip's spur design. Unfortunately, this design also means they're virtually impossible to sharpen, ultimately reducing their usefulness over time. They can also cut slightly flat-bottomed holes, although not as efficiently as a Forstner bit. Regular sized ore will dull, at least have a backup as they are very difficult to sharpen. I stuck a 1/4" bit in my drill press and drilled through a variety of materials from soft cedar to hard maple. He was well received by everyone. It cuts a cleaner hole in hardwood. In the video I used MDF and the hole was pretty uneven. But that's drilling in MDF. These bits cut perfectly clean, sharp edges in hardwood. The quality of the material seems to be average. There is no mention of HSS or cobalt in the description or on the packaging. So I have to assume that these are normal steel bits. This means they don't stay sharp for as long, which is a shame as the sharp tips are almost impossible to sharpen once they've dulled. However, they are quite sharp when delivered and cut very quickly and cleanly. You will receive both a hard plastic box and a rolled plastic case for storage. Both seem a little flimsy, but it's a handy addition. The box has no protection against bits hitting each other. So I went for a folded bag. But I don't think it will last very long. Also, the size labels don't match the sleeves for every bit. So not sure how useful it is. Also, one of the 1/8" bushings was too tight for the bit as you can see in one of the pictures. Overall it's a quality set. I wouldn't recommend them for construction or general purpose DIY. They do the trick better for woodworking where hole accuracy and cleanliness is more important. I particularly like the variety of diameters down to 1/8". Quality"good" is not the best. The price is quite acceptable for 12 points.
