Review on Bernette 38 Swiss Design Computerized Sewing Machine: Enhanced SEO by Summer Hendricks

BIG sewing machine! Quality features at an affordable price

I've been comparing machines for weeks now because I knew it was time for a new one. I was a Singer Machines enthusiast and in 20 years of sewing I've had at least four. I was open to a new brand because my last car didn't seem to be as reliable as the previous ones. Of course I would like to have a Bernina car, but I wasn't ready to spend that much money. During my research, I found that there are two brands that originate from Bernina: Eversew and Bernette. I did a comparison with the models and this machine won because it has an automatic thread cutting button (so cool). I've only had it for a month but I use it all the time (peak season). It has so many high-end features that I didn't know my previous car was obsolete until I got this one. It is very easy to change the stitch style and stitch length, the computerization of this machine is simple and easy to understand whether you have read the instruction manual or not. By the way, the instructions are clear and understandable, I looked through them before getting in the car. Another thing I think is worth mentioning is that the machine will also show you which presser foot to attach after selecting a stitch style. This machine also has an extra table that comes in handy for larger garments. The machine seems to handle thin and heavy materials alike and runs very quietly. I realize this one didn't have as many reviews compared to other more established brands which made it difficult for me to decide which is why I felt the need to write this review. It's a great car, you get excellent value for money with all the bells and whistles. If anyone hesitates, just do it, get it, it's worth it. If there are changes in the quality, functionality or durability of this sewing machine over time, I'll be sure to make a note in an updated review but for now I'm VERY supportive of the Bernette 38. I love using it and aesthetically it's a great addition to my sewing room. UPDATE: It's been over a year and a half since I bought this machine with almost constant use. It was a great investment and she still sews perfect stitches. Using the 1-Step Loop feature is simply reliable. This machine also has two stretch stitch functions that are great for very stretchy fabrics. I do regular house maintenance and plan to bring her into the shop for service, although she shows no signs of needing it. I plan to open a sewing school soon and will stick with these machine lines. Everything at the highest level. UPDATE #2: It's been almost four years and no I haven't brought it to service (I really should). I regularly remove the record and bobbin case to remove dust and oil. I also change the needles about every 10 (sewing) projects. I average about four projects a week with this machine and it consistently produces great stitches! Make no mistake, it's worth every penny.
