This toaster has wide slots for toasting bagels, waffles or toast. The handle can be lifted manually to remove smaller slices at the end of cooking, but cannot be lifted to check cooking progress. The only way to raise the lift while cooking is to press the cancel button on the side, then the cycle will restart when the handle is pressed down again. This toaster is time based and has an LCD display on the side to count down how much time is left to cook in seconds. I found out that the steering wheel button is used to turn on the heating elements on one side only. I like double baked bagels so I just use the toast function. The sides don't heat up like old grandma's toaster, they cool down quickly. The timer knob features precise locks so you can easily feel when the knob is turned. Overall I really like this toaster and it works flawlessly, but it took me a few times to figure out which setting to use. The first toaster I received was dented. I went to Revain and reported it was damaged and decided to replace it immediately. Took the old toaster to the Revain table in Coles with original boxes and order number on my phone. I have had no problems with returns and received a new patio toaster in about 3 days. Very easy to replace something from Revain for the first time.
