They are great! Not only the finished product once hung up and switched on, but I have to say even the packaging they came in. The first thing you notice upon unpacking is the thank you note. Not necessarily, just a nice touch. Another nice touch was that it came with about a dozen ribbons for you to hang them up with. Again not necessarily, just another nice touch. This actually helped a lot as I thought I would use zip ties initially, but when the time came I couldn't find the ones I thought I had and turned out to be the zip ties provided ended up working much better (since I end up making an adjustment or two in between that's easier to undo). Mine worked right out of the box and I spliced 3 sets end to end with no problems. The light filaments themselves have a lot of connector cords (5 meters which is about 16 feet) which was very handy for running the first filament but not necessary for the other sets I spliced together. No big deal, I just tied some extra wire and used one of the coil ties to tuck it neatly and out of the way for a solid look. As for the lights themselves, I wanted to hang them around the pool deck railing. So I wanted some plastic instead of glass in case it ever broke, so they were perfect. I also like LEDs for their efficiency and the fact that they don't get hot. The color is warm white. And they look great! One of the partygoers commented that they were nice because they do NOT look like regular Christmas lights. The diameter of the balls themselves is quite small, about the size of a coin. They had a pretty bad smell when I first turned them on (I've read other reviews saying this so of course I had to put my nose in to see for myself) but since I hung them outside it took care of it don't care about me Perhaps be careful about hanging them indoors, although it's possible you won't find this a problem after they've run out of gas? The lights have different modes you can have them flicker, flicker, or fade in and out --- I found them pretty obnoxious for the look I was going for and I think they're pretty pretty since they only come with one solid burn light . . I think they also have a timer function but I haven't used it as I only plug it in when needed. I would definitely buy more of these and recommend them.
