You will never find a better hood for the money. If the light is too weak for you, you should invest in better lighting in the kitchen or have your eyesight checked. The built-in lighting is ideal for illuminating the stove while cooking. The fan is quite quiet, although not completely silent. Fits well and seems solid enough. You can release it from either the back or the top. The only silly thing I found was that the power comes from above and cannot be moved unless you are at hand. I used a stepper and punched a hole in the back for it and I had a rubber bushing that worked. Why did they make it so you can fit it under a closet and the power only comes from the top?! Stupid, but after my drill was done with it, everything assembled fine. Overall worth the money and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
