This product is for single use only - use an Ethernet wall outlet for two devices that will NOT work simultaneously. I use this to unplug my Xbox 360 and laptop from the same port without having to unplug the cables from the wall. mine does not work at all if all ports are occupied. One goes to my DVD player, the other to my computer. When both are connected neither of them works, but when one of them is disconnected then it works. Works as described. This does not mean that you can use 2 devices at the same time. I ran a speed test and didn't see any noticeable degradation.

This WILL NOT WORK if both devices (in my example my work and home laptop) are either turned on or their power adapters are plugged into the wall. let me explain. I always leave both laptops plugged into the wall to charge their batteries. For this to work you will need to unplug the AC adapter from the laptop/device you are NOT using (and/or make sure it is turned off) so the splitter doesn't see another device trying to use it. This splitter has all I/O connected together, it is not a switch or hub that can be used to tie multiple components to a single router or cable connection. If you know what you're doing, you can use it to separate individual signals from one cable to two sources, which is what I did. I have a cable with 2 pairs of DSL connections from an ISP and 2 pairs for 100Base. -T on a CAT5 cable.
