layered fleece blanket with fringes) - didn't work. None of my cuts were clean and I tried to use new sharp blades. When I used my regular stitch and quilt edge: All the cuts were clean. I think the slits kept my blades from biting into both layers. Unfortunately I have a 60" x 72" rectangle for the fringes. There will be a lot of cuts with a regular ruler. . .okay, my mistake. Two days later: update my review. I thought why not a larger diameter cutter - does one exist? (I used my regular 45mm cutter. Don't laugh, seasoned quilters. I didn't know). Well, there are 60mm cutting machines and now I have one and it solved the double batting and slotted ruler problem. I still have to tighten the muscles on the incision and pull it through the slot both ways, but I get stable cuts with very little ruler movement. And could cut pizza on the side. Five stars for the line. I recommend using a 60mm disc cutter.
