Despite all the negative reviews, I bought this product anyway. No kitchen timer seems to have had perfect reviews. Many are picky, like the flashing light on this device. It's not distracting at all. Most of the time I'm not even in the same room when it turns off, but when I'm in the kitchen, for example, the blinking just reminds me that I have something left on the timer. The dual clock/timer with sequential timer function is great. When not in use, the second timer displays the current time of day. The upper display only shows the time. The buttons are intuitive. The magnets are enough to hold it to the vertical surface of my hood. I've had them for a few weeks now and haven't taken them off. The beep can be turned off, level 1 and level 2. I choose the loudest setting and hear it throughout the house. It starts flashing slowly at the beginning, it gets faster in the last minutes, then it flashes red in the last minute and even faster until if it doesn't go out, it stops beeping after 1 minute when you do it. Don't turn it off. It will also count if you want, but it won't beep as it has no settings for this process. Another really nice thing about this timer is that it's completely flat on the bottom. So if you attach the magnet to a vertical surface and press the buttons, it won't wobble or fall. It stays in place and you can install it with one hand. There is no clip on the back to make it swing. It also has an inverted stabilizing leg if you want to put it on the counter. It would be just as easy to fall. The timer is perfectly vertical, although not at an upward angle, so it can be a bit more difficult to read when you're towering over your kitchen counters. Overall I'm very happy with this time and glad I ignored the negative reviews.
