Firstly I'm not a professional just a skilled handyman. Miters for crown moldings. The bevel angle is much more readable than a straight cut to my aging eyes, but since I only use it for beveling it's definitely worth it. The tool is very accurate and well made. It is made of durable plastic with very clean lines and markings. Of course, you can use a protractor and calculate the angle to get the angle you want. I'm a professional programmer with some serious math skills, but even I like it when math is simplified. This little tool will do just that.
