I had high hopes for the bread bin but was very disappointed when it arrived. This is because there is no locking mechanism to prevent the two parts from separating. If you're single or a couple and you know you can gently expand or open the box, you might be fine. I am a mother with children who are 16 years old and these children have friends in our house who also call me mother. I can already see this box being taken apart the first time a hurried child tries to open the box and then my dogs join the party to help them clean up. these are called the prophetic visions of the mother. Worse, that box is so unfolded that it won't fit inside a store-bought loaf of bread. I also assume that due to its design, pre-sliced bread doesn't stay fresh for long since the expanding part of the box isn't sealed. I'm not going to waste a loaf of bread trying to figure out if I'm right, my dogs don't need carbs. After being a mom for a while, you kinda know what's gonna be a mess on the floor. The only good thing I can say is that it is beautiful and looks like it would go with any home baked bread. Finally, I want item ratings to apply to this item. Most of the reviews refer to other food storage items that could be great. However, it's misleading to lump all the reviews together when I'm busy and quickly flipping through them to look for a highly rated item. Revane, your "choice" is disappointing. We're returning and we hope the feedback system will change.
