I have a couple of cheap hex sets and the real bit is held in the drive nut with a set screw. These set screws never get the job done and require you to find another tool to fix the first tool so you can do what you originally started. These bits are held firmly in the sockets of the drive. I'm expecting a press fit or heatset but however it's done they seem really strong. What is really impressive is that the drivers are sized to match the bit so are unlikely to damage the nut/ratchet or bit/lock. Several things bother me here. The logic of bit order eludes me, so I have to take my time finding the bit I know is there. Also, the embossing on the case is done in black on black, making the dimensions very difficult to read in low light. A great set to save the day when you're straying from traditional fasteners.
