Review on Men'S Waterproof Backpacking Boots For The Outdoors by Juzer Rashid

Garbage like Sorrel Caribous!

Update: As mentioned in my original review I've had problems with Sorrel Caribou boots rubber lowers cracking at the flex point right behind my toes. The Northside Back Country boots have the same issue and cracked in 5 months. Don't buy them they're garbage like Sorrels!I bought these because Sorrel Caribou's that are currently being sold are throw away garbage since the rubber used for the lower boot cracks after 2-3 winters of use. I wear size 9 shoes and bought this boot in the same size & it fits me true to size. The Northside boots are heavier than the Caribou. The liner is lighter than the Caribou thus not as warm, and difficult to put back into the boot partially due to the rough interface inside the boot between the rubber lower boot and upper material. It was hard to get my orthotic insoles into the liners and back in the boots. I bought these because at less than half the price of the Caribou it's worth a shot. If they last as long or longer than the Caribou I'm ahead of the game. I've only used them for a week so I can't speak to their durability. I live in Breckenridge Colorado at 9,600 feet and it's been snowing daily. I walked my dog tonight, the temperature was about -5 degrees Fahrenheit, and after twenty minutes my toes were a bit cold.

Pros
  • Adjustable lacing system to fit any foot shape
Cons
  • The boots are not very stylish and may not be suitable for urban settings
