Review on ViewSonic VX2452MH Gaming Monitor: 1920X1080, 60Hz, πŸ–₯️ Anti Glare, HD, LCD - Ultimate Gaming Experience! by Benjamin Gagne

Color and screen issues make this an exceptional gaming monitor.

I originally bought this to replace my Acer SB220Q as my main monitor and was generally disappointed at first. Contrast was extremely high, and adjusting settings via the OSD (whose buttons were very sharp and cutting my fingers) didn't help at all. The colors were a little more saturated than I thought they should have been. The viewing angles were quite narrow and the corners were dark, and this combined with the high native contrast made it difficult to discern dark images or games. Plain white images show the effect of a screen door. The speakers were very weak and required the desktop sound to be cranked up in order to be heard, after which it lost all clarity and had no bass at all. The Response Time setting was meant to reduce motion blur, but the trade-off was that it added significant ghosting and choppy motion. Most importantly it had a vignette on the right edge of the monitor which was so annoying for me that I had to return it under warranty. I received an older production date model as a replacement and for some reason the quality of the two monitors is day and night. . Contrast and colors are now consistent with my other displays including the SB220Q. I was able to get almost 100% image matching with a very small RGB setting. The monitor's OSD buttons are squarer and duller and require little force to press. The speakers are significantly better. Response time adjustment now works without the usual noticeable compromises and makes high-speed games great. Unfortunately, the screen door is still there, and this one also has a dark border along the right side of the screen, although it's much less noticeable, but the color enhancement was enough to make sure I kept it. This is a spontaneous game mode. not for me as the image becomes dull, flat and washed out in favor of a lower contrast ratio which should make it easier to see in the dark for esports, tactical gaming or whatever. I recommend this for gaming, where you probably aren't paying enough attention to image quality to notice issues, but not for creative work or art, as the color and light seem inconsistent between devices.
