Superb controller with major defect

At first glance, the controller fits perfectly in the hand, the buttons are large and sensitive. The d-pad, while soft, works very well. Mileage may vary depending on how much you like the feel of the dpad but I have no complaints and am very happy to have a dpad at all versus a standard joycon. The spaced-out layout also looks nice, in contrast to the lined-up buttons and joystick of the original controller. Generally very ergonomic! What holds me back personally, however, is how much the Bluetooth indicator light in the controller bleeds through the blue/green dial. While it's noticeable in daylight, it gets exceptionally bad with every dimming. Personally, I'm not interested in RGB lighting, so I turned it off. Unfortunately, there is a second blue light inside that stays on all the time. This bleeds through the entire shell and flows into the RGB circle. Photos are attached for demonstration purposes. I have bad news for those who like RGB lighting, at least for those who are into the blue-green set. Even when the lighting is switched on, light penetrates the housing over a large radius. It is unfortunate that one of the main advantages of the controller is to damage the product. I LOVE both the feel and the look of the controller and it is so close to perfection. If a future software update can turn off the blue light in the controller when the joycons are connected to the Switch, it's going to be a long time coming. way to solve the problem of light leakage. In summary, the controllers are very beautiful and functional, but the incidence of light prevents them from being the perfect solution to the joystick problem.
