I am using this item in Qatar. I might as well be working on the surface of the sun. I keep the pitcher in the "shade" but to my surprise the water stays cold all day. I expected a few hours at most, not most of the day. I don't know how long it stays cold because I drink water for the first 12 hours. My only gripe is that I bought a rope handle which you need with the larger container but the rings connecting the cap and rope compete for space around the neck of the bottle.
