This product changed my life. I live offline and without cell phone reception. So I rely on ham radio to keep in touch with friends, neighbors, and home while I'm hunting or hiking. The Survival Antenna has at least doubled the distance I can reach with my portable radio. You don't have to climb a high hill or mountain to ask your neighbors for help to get a bear or a moose - it's amazing! I read reviews before buying and one guy (Elmer) said it was cheap. I wonder if he even tried? Anyway, I can hit the repeater about 20 miles away, which I could never do with a traditional antenna. Although I'm sad at the moment. I bragged about this to a colleague and he's still using it, I think I'll just buy another one.
