I bought this little device not expecting much (considering the price and basic design), but I was wrong - it's worth what I paid, and works great on an elliptical trainer. Unlike some other phone holders available, this design is simple with an elliptical bar clamp and two side grips, but works very well. The handlebar sleeve holds tight without slipping off during a long workout, and the phone rests comfortably between the side handles and releases easily when the pull tab is pulled. I'm not sure if someone using an Otterbox or larger phone case would have the same success, but my slim case works great with it.
