February: Why didn't I think of that sooner! Carrying around a lost key every day after the plastic loop broke was extremely stressful. Now it's back on my keychain. great June: Rubber loop tore about 6 weeks ago. As a temporary fix, I passed the key ring through the broken part of the hinge and the top hole. This part broke today. As I am considering a new option the only good thing about it compared to the brittle original plastic is that you have a warning before it breaks (it breaks gradually). Plastic can tear at any time without warning. Recommendation: Put it on your keychain, keep an eye on it and never take it off the ring. I've only taken it off twice to give it to a workshop but if I hadn't taken it off it would have given me another month. This reduces the stress of losing a loose key, but not for long.
