I bought one of these when I bought the MXT275 for my car and was so impressed with the performance that I bought another to set up an nmo ground plane for my base station . Between the receive and transmit options, I have no complaints, except perhaps for the option for chrome. Also, thanks to this antenna, I was able to pick up a repeater 50 miles away at 15 watts. Mobile devices seem to like magnetic mounts. I already have a tan magazine holder on the car and replaced the old tan on it with this and now I'm not missing anything. As a base antenna, I can connect the same repeater 50 miles away with a stable 10 watt output. It costs money. I really wish I could buy this antenna first and save some money.
