I saw a lot of people asking for this paper so I fell for the meme and got some (also ran out of watercolor paper scraps). At first I was impressed, the texture is nice and the pages are thick. but then I really started using it. I say this is monkey paw watercolor paper because it's quite rare to find large quantities of large format 100% cotton paper at a low price. However, the lack of size here means your color will seep into the page very quickly if you're not an artist fast enough to keep up with it. With paper like this, even lifting it is a chore, since even my least polluting paints don't budge. So I'm not sure it would be a good paper for watercolor beginners or those looking for something cheap and effective. Artists working with drier media will likely enjoy this more. When I use it with gouache and ink everything looks fine. I'd rather recommend Strathmore 500 Precut Watercolor Paper if you're looking for cheap cotton paper that you can't work too hard with.
