More sneakers than boots
More high-top sneakers and less winter/hiking boots. The upper is a woven mesh material with no waterproofing or insulation, so LO's feet are sure to get cold and wet when playing in the snow or jumping through puddles. If I were looking for high-top sneakers, they would fit in every way. Definitely not a good "boot" with sneaker qualities for a Midwest winter.
