Review on Tuff Support Rear Door Lift Support for Hummer H3 (2006-2010) by Treyshaun Clena

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Rear door lift Hummer H3.

A good replacement for the tailgate bracket on my 2007 Hummer H3. None of the local auto parts carried it. The instructions are on the packaging itself, but are difficult to follow. What I did was remove the old shock by tearing off the old metal fasteners that held it in place. The new one comes with a small metal clip on either end. Press a little on the protruding side and they'll move away immediately. Make sure the new bearing head is fully seated in the ball (very important step) then put the pin back through the two small holes and then press the clip into place. Both ends of the brace can be twisted for a perfect fit. However, I had to attach the support to the car mounted sphere and then push in slightly to fit on the door sphere. (This part was difficult, but it can be done). On the other hand, the H3 doors are heavy and then add the extra weight of the spare tire and tire and the weight almost doubles. This shock absorber, like the normal one, only slows the gate down on a slope. Excellent quality, fit and design.
