I bought hard water from a well (Wisconsin) and originally bought a pitcher with a Pur water filter. After two weeks of use, the water stopped going through the filter. I installed this magnetic softener and have been getting excellent drinking water from a filter for about two months now and am constantly cleaning my clothes and dishes. It even removed the yellow buildup on clothes and utensils that built up on my clothes and utensils after I added LemiShine and then soaked it for several hours. This is no longer necessary as this yellow precipitate no longer appears.
