I first bought my husband three inches of high density foam and he loved it and said it helped his back pain. So I bought one, but two inches thick and medium weight. The high density like his was too stiff for me but the medium weight 2 inch model was perfect. My hips no longer hurt when I lie on my side and use it on my massage table bed. The foam stays in place and does not slip. I'm recovering well. It didn't have a peculiar smell like the one I first bought for my husband. We had to air it out for four or five days before using it.
