This bite valve is easy to reach for drinking and very compact in a closed-loop downhill bike helmet. Twist to unlock is intuitive and relatively easy. Flow is adequate and doesn't feel restrictive in any way. However, the cap must be removed with the main power. You just twist it at an angle and after a few tries it comes loose. I've never been able to remove it, but I've never been able to kill myself either, and it can really hurt when I'm trying to do something else and secretly drink while I only have a second. As a result, I often had to do without this drink. As such, I would rate this valve as suitable for those who have a lot of time to play with, rather than a good choice for those who need to multitask. I've found that I can only push it back halfway and it stays on pretty well. But if I had run and jumped, I'm sure he wouldn't have stayed put. Also, once removed, the same lid tends to get in the way of drinking. It just seems to get in the way. A longer string solves this problem, but likely creates new problems. This product can definitely use the 2nd generation revision.
