Good quality thread

I'm just learning to sew and am making my own supply. I don't know how often I need the red plum color but it was so on sale and beautiful that I bought it. I hope I will have to use it soon. I bought a good quality machine to learn from and I want it to be in good condition. I've read a lot about threads being important so I buy quality stuff I've since bought a bunch of Aurifil cotton threads with lots of neutral colors that have proved useful so far!
