Huge but limited Best in Vehicles

I have two boys ages 4 and 9 who together have about a million Hot Wheels cars and more track sets than I can count. My kids were thrilled to add this set to their ever-growing Hot Wheels town that's taking over our basement. I give him points for his enormous size. It's really big so make sure you have more floor space. But aside from its size and the fact that it looks impressive, to be honest, it's something special. I find it rather limited. My kids didn't mind that it only came with one machine and they enjoy trying them out, going through the other machines in their collection to see which ones work well too. But it seems to me that this almost $50 set should include another car or two. We have several kits in this price range and most of these come with three cars. It also burns D batteries. So make sure you have enough of them. (Not at first. It was a bad time.) And it's very noisy. Once we got everything set up and my kids tried it out to see how it worked, they had fun. They found machines that worked well with him and everyone had a good time. But they soon got tired of it. And although they play with their cars in the basement every day, they rarely start them. (Trust me, it's so loud I know for sure!) So I'd say this set suits us. In terms of rating I would say 3.5 stars is fair. I expected more for the price - more machines, more options to play. Simply more. In these areas it falls short in my opinion compared to other comparable sets we have.
