Review on Sharpening KERYE Professional Whetstone Flattening by Hco Cortes

Would recommend for whetstones

All in all a very good set. I've been looking for a knife sharpening kit for my knives as many of them have worn out more than I'd like and I'm planning on camping with a few soon. I've used this to sharpen a pair of stainless steel fixed blades and a stainless steel folding knife. As mentioned, my knives were dull and would tear paper instead of cutting it. After sharpening my knives with these sharpening stones, my knives were actually able to cut instead of tear. I followed the general rule of doubling the number of strokes each stone change (10 for medium, 20 for fine, 40 for dressing) and used water instead of oil. I didn't use the gloves that came with it as I found them unnecessary. I also didn't use the angle guide that came with it, as I was sharpening Scandinavian sharpeners and only kept track of the sharpening. The bandage belt has a handy "button" that you can hold onto to get a trained belt. My only issue with the stones is that the company logo is printed on the pair. This creates a smooth area on the stone that needs to be smoothed before use, otherwise there will be a small area left to actually sharpen the knife. I would have preferred the logo printed on the side rather than the top. Pros: Really sharpens knives. Can be used by beginners (it is recommended to study the information first). Multiple grit levels for readjusting or sharpening knives. Silicone mounts prevent strong movements. Used in many areas to maintain the degree of grinding. Cons: The logo needs to be removed (or simply bypassed) before use. Made in Japan so English instructions are mostly useless.
