Review on πŸ“Έ Camera Light Seal Form: 250 X 125 X 1.0mm - Top Quality Light Seal for Cameras by Roy Ramos

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Difficult to install in a narrow duct, but popular nonetheless

This rating is based on 1.5mm foam. I couldn't fit 1.5mm thick foam into the side channels of a Canon TX door (35mm film camera from the FD era). I wasn't able to get the sticky side of the foam to consistently attach to the bottom of the channels. So part of the sticky side ended up on the open side of the channel where the door edges enter. So when I closed the film camera door, the stickiness kept the door closed. This made it difficult, but not impossible, to open the door again. I switched to black felt from a fabric store instead of styrofoam, which seems to work much better for door edge channels. door hinge and as a mirror cushion. I have a collection of Canon film cameras so I am saving 1.5mm thick foam for later. Maybe it would be easier to install 1.5mm in wider doors, or maybe I was struggling because I was inexperienced. Nevertheless, I am satisfied with the product. Plenty of foam to replace light seals and mirror pads on at least 15-20 cameras.
