Review on πŸ”΅ Hunter 51022 Conroy Low Profile Ceiling Fan, 42", Snow White Finish with LED Light and Pull Chain Control by Jamie Clark

Hunter quality control is never the same.

I bought this fan over other cheaper alternatives hoping for a quiet fan and Hunter quality. I don't think I understand either. My issues with this fan: 1) the quality doesn't seem to match the price 2) the fan was so unbalanced it took me about an hour to assemble it. 3) Motor noise is slightly worse than the $30 fan I replaced with this fan. Installing the fan was a bit tricky at first, like installing a "hugging fan", but not too terrible. However, balancing this fan was quite problematic. I spent about an hour checking and re-checking it only to find it was so far out of balance that I had to use 3 weights to balance EVERYTHING on ONE BLADE. I played with several alternate positions but ended up with 3 weights on the end of one blade. I've probably installed about 10 ceiling fans in my life and I've never had a new one that bad out of the box. After the fan was balanced, I am very unhappy with the noise (hum) of the motor. I've tried the fan at all three speeds and the hum on all is slightly HARDER than the $30 fan I replaced with this fan of the same diameter and CFM. If removing and sending it back wasn't so difficult I would send this fan back.
