Review on G-STORY Portable Monitor FreeSync Computer Nintendo 17.3" 1920X1080P 165Hz Ultrawide Screen - USB Hub, Tilt Adjustment, Glossy Screen - GST173 by Billy Ybarra

The USB-C interface is unstable

when to start I really like this external wearable display, but it has PROBLEMS. IF you ONLY use this display on the HDMI interface from the source device, I think it will work for you without any problems and you will be happy. I had no issues testing via HDMI sources (PC HDMI port or new 4th Gen iPad Air with HDMI from a USB-C hub). I would say four/five stars if ONLY the HDMI interface is needed. The panel itself is very clear and looks very clear at 1920 x 1080, no complaints. However, the speaker volume at maximum volume is very weak even compared to my laptop's speakers. The case works perfectly, stands upright. You need to hold it fairly upright or sit on a grippy surface. USB-C powered PS works well. The box has all the necessary cables, although they are quite short. Now USB-C video interface. This device sucks! I know the spec says only a fully featured USB-C device is supported, but I have a brand new Dell laptop that supports external USB-C monitors for DisplayPort and HDMI with no issues, but I can't get this G -Don't get Story to work (Note: These are 2 USB-C ports, the bottom one is for power, the top one is for signal input). I also have a new USB-C Pixel 4a that doesn't work with a direct wired connection or through a USB-C hub. I also received a new 4th gen iPad Air this week. This display works if I use a USB-C hub and then an HDMI interface from the hub to the display. But when I connect the direct USB-C cable to the display, the G-Story display restarts as soon as I interact with the iPad. I suspect that the manufacturer of this device incorrectly implemented the USB-C interface specification on this device. I don't know if it helps to fix flashing firmware. I can't even find this device on the G-Story website to check for firmware updates?! (Prototype maybe?!) Finally, I would NOT recommend this display in its current state! It's a great concept but at the price advertised by Revain I don't think it's worth it when the USB-C interface is half baked and can't support devices released in 2020 like the new iPad Air or the Pixel 4a smartphone, or a Dell 2019 corporate laptop model. . Buyers should be careful with this device. NOTE. In the photos you can see a small gray iPad USB-C hub. HDMI is used from the hub to the display to make it work. In other photos, the direct USB-C connection method causes G-Story to restart immediately (white screen) as soon as I touch and interact with the iPad. The supplied manual is simply folded paper with small print.
