Review on Large 23" X 8" X 5" Adjustable Neck, Shoulder & Back Ice Pack Wrap For Muscle Soreness, Pain & Inflammation Relief - Cold Therapy Treatment. by Steven Stager

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great Hot/Cold Pack to cover Larger areas like Back, Thigh, Shoulder, etc!

I have both a Bulging Disk and Degenerative Disk Disease in my Back/Neck so I bought this Pack for its heating application to soothe my Pains.I picked this one because the Large Size, i’m a Big Guy 6’-3” 230lbs so most of the Packs I’ve found at the store just do not cover enough area. I measured the Surface of this Heating Pack’s "Heating Area” and it’s 9 inches X 11 inches (Box says 9.5 x 11.5 but I don’t think that extra little .5 is heating area) but it covered and worked very nice for me.It’s great they put the instructions ON the Pack itself. That being said Pay attention to the instructions! ( I didn’t very well, first time )I heated to much and had to let cool down before I could use, because I did not change my 1250W Microwave to the recommended 600W for 70 seconds. Luckily I didn’t damage my Pack. If you cannot adjust your Microwaves Watts like I do mine now and it’s higher then 600W then try heating only 10 to 15 second intervals as suggested until you find what works best with yours. They recommend you only use for about 15 to 20 Minutes which is fine since I’ve found after 20 Minutes it starts losing effective amount of heat anyways and by then my Back usually feels somewhat better and i’m Relaxed. Also like any heating Pad or Pack make sure to keep a piece of Cloth between Plastic and Skin contact, when using with my back I just simply wear a T-Shirt.Finally, the Velcro belt fits even a Big Guy like myself, but the surface area of the Velcro Fastener is not huge , so while it holds adequately for using the Pack while resting a Injury. If your up moving around a LOT while wearing this Pack it may come lose. You can also put this Pack in Freezer to be used Cold to reduce swelling of a injury.
