I started buying 20V Dewalt tools a few years ago I still have some of my old 18V Dewalt tools including a grinder but my 18 volt batteries just don't hold a charge anymore. So I bought these adapters to continue using some of the older 18v tools. The first night I used one of the adapters with my 18v grinder, after about 20 minutes the battery started to drain. I removed the solution so I wasn't surprised. When I started changing it, the battery was very hot. I let it cool down and then tried to charge it but it won't charge. This is the second failed adapter (the first just stopped conducting current). I probably should have gone and bought the official Dewalt adapter. While researching this, I found several reports of faulty "wrong" adapters, deteriorating batteries, dead batteries when not in use, etc. I would NOT recommend this brand or any other battery adapter manufacturer.
