We used three gallons. Wet garbage bags for 20 years and the new handle style is better than ever. My wife cooks on a meat island with a small sink at one end. The Rack Sack attaches to the inside of the cabinet door under the sink. At work, my wife just leaves the door open and opens the lid of the Rack Sack a little, and the leftover salad, meat, etc. goes straight into the bag. Cleaning scraps end up in the bag, too, and with the lid down and the door closed, odor isn't a problem, unless we're talking fish skin and the like. When the bag is removed, the handles tie conveniently for easy carrying.
