In my experience "normal" crimping tools are not suitable for heat shrink connectors (at least for cheap heat shrink connectors). one for crimping the grommet around the wire insulation. For heat shrink connectors, the first part of the die does not properly crimp the electrical connection on the wire, and the second part of the crimp die bends the uncompressed sleeve of the heat shrink connector. This tool has a standard die for crimping the electrical connections of the shrink terminals and has the clearance required to leave the shrink sleeve intact.
