I have a CEL with trouble code P0171 in my 2009 Tiguan 2.0T with about 75,000 miles on it. After much internet searching I decided to give it a try before spending another $100 and getting a one piece PVC piece. The old one almost exploded when I tried to carefully pry it off with a screwdriver. I got a few minor cuts from it so the gloves might be ok. When it was off I saw several large gaps in the membrane. I put a new one on (carefully to make sure all the clips snapped into place) and tested it. Has been working without problems for a few days now. I will update if that changes. Update: This is more of a band-aid than a solution. This lasts for a while but doesn't solve the problem. A month later, it's still causing oil leaks. It will take several months, but ideally the entire part will need to be replaced. Some wrote that the small hole in the top was not fully drilled. That wasn't the case with me. Everything went as it should.
