Not very easy to install

I replaced it with my wife's 2009 VW Jetta after finding oil just behind the throttle body. I would recommend replacing the mass air flow sensor while you're at it, because if you're having problems with the PCV valve, your MAS is probably covered in oil. The price was right, but it's not that easy to install. This is the average low level on the difficulty scale.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Great replacement part.

It seemed to fit perfectly. Build quality and materials proved to be OEM equivalent. My only downside is that this part differed from the original in that the flexible diaphragm was attached to the valve body on the original but not on this replacement. I don't know if this will have a long-term effect, so just a small bump. So far the function seems to be normal.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some problems

Worked great, solved my problem with the high internal vacuum.

Fixed high vacuum issue. No CEL or other issues but my oil cap was stuck with high internal vacuum. I replaced the PVC membrane with a paint can opener which I highly recommend. Although my old diaphragm had no visible damage and no dirt in my system, this cured my particular problem. Looking back, I think the spring was harder on the old original. Perhaps a new lighter spring was the ticket. Not sure but 100% helped me, 5 stars.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Good

Firm! I would take a chance with this part before replacing the entire manifold. The replacement took about 15 minutes and the leak was fixed immediately. After several YouTube videos suggesting that some people were still having leaks after replacing this Dorman part, I expected that when they removed this cover they had damaged the manifold itself. I was careful not to damage anything as I removed the old unit and installed the new one. @006 VW Jetta with 2.5 engine.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Appears to be a quality item.

The item seems fine but I don't think it solved my problem. As others have written, the lid is very difficult to remove. I ended up using a screwdriver and pliers to pry it apart. The two screwdriver method others used didn't work. It takes a good smack to get the new cover in place. I had engine code P2187 and after all the symptoms described I thought this would be my solution. After replacement, the idle speed was not smoother. Removed the code (which for some reason makes the engine sound…

Cheap repair for my 2009 Audi A4 B8

My 2009 Audi A4 B8 was showing engine codes P2187 (System Too Lean at Idle (Bank 1) DTC) and P2279 (Leak in Air Intake System). After reading many websites I have read that a common cause of these trouble codes in my car is a ruptured PCV membrane. After reading that the cap was difficult to remove and a lot of people broke it, I decided to just spend $15 and order this part regardless of whether the membrane was broken or not as I may need a new cap . After he entered, I opened the lid…

Pros
  • Excellent Construction
Cons
  • Some minor issues

It worked great

I have a CEL with trouble code P0171 in my 2009 Tiguan 2.0T with about 75,000 miles on it. After much internet searching I decided to give it a try before spending another $100 and getting a one piece PVC piece. The old one almost exploded when I tried to carefully pry it off with a screwdriver. I got a few minor cuts from it so the gloves might be ok. When it was off I saw several large gaps in the membrane. I put a new one on (carefully to make sure all the clips snapped into place) and…

This time this piece of junk only lasted 2 months

I really hope this one lasts longer than the one I installed in August 2017. . When I removed the cover, it turned out that the rubber membrane itself had ruptured! They are SIGNIFICANTLY THINNER than the OEM PCV membrane. I'd like to find a source for an OEM version of this. It's cheap for a reason; it shouldn't take long. EDIT: This piece of junk only lasted 2 months this time! Check out the photos I've added. This shows that both have failed. The second one I bought seems to have turned to…

Excellent goods. for the right engine lol

Well I ordered this without further checking for my 2014 Jetta with a naturally aspirated 2.0 liter engine. So this is Jane's plane. This Jetta engine does not have this type of PCV layout with this membrane. Wrong part. Wrong message from Revain that it's coming to my car. That does not fit. For those with this type of engine, check your arrangement. There's a PCV pipe ($58 from an OE VW dealer) and it goes to a valve that melts on the air intake pipe. If this valve is defective, you will need
