My 2009 Audi A4 B8 was showing engine codes P2187 (System Too Lean at Idle (Bank 1) DTC) and P2279 (Leak in Air Intake System). After reading many websites I have read that a common cause of these trouble codes in my car is a ruptured PCV membrane. After reading that the cap was difficult to remove and a lot of people broke it, I decided to just spend $15 and order this part regardless of whether the membrane was broken or not as I may need a new cap . After he entered, I opened the lid (cracking it in the process) and sure enough the diaphragm was ruptured. I used the existing spring and seat where the spring meets and just used the new diaphragm and cap. Cleared error codes and has been working great ever since. I agree with some of the other reviews that the diaphragm appears to be a little thinner than the OEM part, but I don't mind spending another $15 if that turns out to be the case.
