The item seems fine but I don't think it solved my problem. As others have written, the lid is very difficult to remove. I ended up using a screwdriver and pliers to pry it apart. The two screwdriver method others used didn't work. It takes a good smack to get the new cover in place. I had engine code P2187 and after all the symptoms described I thought this would be my solution. After replacement, the idle speed was not smoother. Removed the code (which for some reason makes the engine sound like it's dying) and waited a few minutes. Turn off the engine, pause, restart the engine and get engine codes P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304. ? I don't know what to think of that. A new oil filler cap gasket should arrive tomorrow. Some forums say a bad gasket can cause similar symptoms and code P2187. Unless. To business.
