Pretty good lens hoods in lens accessory

I just received this set so this is the first impression. I think it's good value for money and a smart set. I just bought a used Nikon 28-200 zoom lens that came with a proper Nikon lens hood (HB-12) which is huge. This makes the lens look like a tube. And I don't think it's effective for darkening the lens, too small and wide. Rather than protect, I think it's easier to damage the lens. To be clear, this set consists of two lens hoods, a one-piece plastic tulip lens hood and a two-position foldable rubber lens hood. Not intended for simultaneous use. I've always liked rubber hoods because they offer protection even when folded. This one vignettes at full width, but half is fine. Adjusting is an extra step if you're busy taking photos, but vignette isn't so bad if you forget about it. The inner ring is screwed into the lens. The lid snaps into place on spring-loaded ball bearings. Of course, the hood is free to rotate and requires some attention to keep it in place. Not so bad, but it's a minus. yes it is double sided The Nikon lens cap that came with my lens sits too low in the ring to reach the release buttons on the sides, but the cap from this kit has recessed finger latches in the front just right for the lens. hoods. This is a pretty thorough review considering I haven't taken any photos with it yet. I'll revise it if I find I missed something. Given the price, I'm not disappointed.
