This is a tank sensor! It's good. Suitable for oil tanks from 275 gallons to 550 gallons. Just read the instructions, the float should float (yes) and not touch the sides of the tank once installed. It's up to the installer to get it right. This is a replacement for the one broken by a fallen branch. The one it replaced was at least 10 years old because it was here in the tank when I bought the house. As long as the airtight seals stay watertight I don't see why it wouldn't last 20 years.
