LED lights have come a long way in mountain biking

I have been an avid biker for many years and have been using Nite Rider xenon lights for 10 years. Recently some of the circuitry in this light had failed so I looked for a replacement and decided to try one of the LED lights. I bought this because it's very compact and powerful and someone who also bought a bike light said it had a more focused beam. I also bought a helmet mount accessory and installed it on it. I prefer to have a helmet light so you can look around when turning and look up the trail without having to rely on the handlebars to direct the light. I haven't traveled with this light yet, but the return from it is amazing. It's not as expensive as my xenon flashlight, but it's also 1/6 the cost of my xenon flashlight, and it's a lot lighter, which is a big plus if you're mounting something on your helmet. It's also not much dimmer than my HID light. The build quality of the flashlight seems pretty good, but not as good as my Nite Rider. hope it lasts Also, the cord is a bit short for a helmet mount flashlight, but I think it would be fine if I put it on my camelback. The halo feature is cool and I could see where road riders would use it to be seen, but it doesn't matter at all in mountain biking where you're only interested in the trail.
