I can't compare these brushes to other brands as this is my first time buying them. However, they made cleaning my bike a pretty painless job. Each brush is designed for a specific part of the cleaning process and each seems to do its job well, with the right amount of stiffness or softness etc. I have to say I removed the wheels when I was cleaning my bike so I can't can't comment on how well these brushes clean in tight spaces while the wheels are still in place. I also have a Park Tool chain cleaner (a little harder to use I think) - while these brushes are good, they won't do much on the chain itself.
