Review on 🍡 Lipton Unsweetened Gallon-Sized Iced Tea Bags, Picked at Peak Freshness - Supports a Healthy Heart, 48 Oz, 48 Count by Sean Sheppard

Excellent tea. Convenient for a gallon-sized iced tea.

Lipton makes great iced tea. Don't waste your money on specialty ice teas. Their flavors are not suitable for this purpose. One gallon bags are perfect for tea, and after experimenting I've come to the conclusion that the best way to do this is to bring a little over a quart of water to a boil in a saucepan. Then turn off the burner and allow the water to cool for a few minutes. This eliminates the bitter taste that can come from tea when brewed while boiling. I see this error a lot and it just creates a bitter mess. Then place in a bag and let steep for 3 to 4.5 minutes depending on whether you want a little more or less flavor. Whatever you do, don't hold it for more than 5 minutes or you'll get that bitter taste again. When done, mix in about 1 cup and an additional tablespoon or two of sugar. The cup is a little less sweet than perfect. An extra tablespoon is just what you need, but too much syrup. If you want a lower calorie yet tasty drink, use half a glass and add some EasySweet or another liquid artificial sweetener. Ice and ready-to-drink tea, but without an ice maker, here's what I do. Once the sugar has dissolved (while still hot), allow the tea to stand, uncovered, for 15-30 minutes to lower the temperature. This means it will drop from around 190F to 130 or so. Mix this with 2.5-3 liters of cold, filtered water from your 40F or less refrigerator. This brings the temperature down to around 65Β°F and is cool enough to be comfortable, especially on a hot day. This method can also save on ice, as you can just pop a cube or two into a glass for iced tea. You can also just put it in the fridge if you want it to be cooler.
