Second replacement of this part since buying the machine over 20 years ago. The Kenmore product is well made, but all the plastic parts will eventually wear out on EVERY unit. Tips: Don't use the highest stirrer speed, reduce it one setting to the HIGHEST/MAX setting (on my machine it's a setting between "Fine" and "MAX" (fast) - LIMIT the number of Jeans to 1 or MAX 2 pairs per load, and if you load 2, reduce the remaining load to HALF and use the FULL LOAD water level so that the clothes move "freely" in the extra water height.By the way, on this one 20 year old Kenmore machine I also replaced: - a plastic motor drive clutch (once) - plastic lid switches (2 or 3 pcs) - drain pump (once) - on and off timer switch module (2 or 3 pcs) is an easy wearing part ( DIY - master level) replacement, and it's still going strong.
