I have enjoyed using these tiles. They take paint very well, are smooth and ready to use. However, if you want to make coasters out of it, you'll need A LOT more than the small (very thin) felt pads that come with the kit. thick pieces of felt from another project and hot glued to the back of each tile and then glued to precut cork backings which you can also buy here on Amazon. These tiles are actually regular wall tiles and will need support if you are going to use them for anything other than display. They are a good thickness but as they are quite large for coasters they do not last long if used as is. I know that with everything I do I will find a use for other things. My suggestion is to make sure you use a good backing and just buy the tiles individually.
