Review on CUIUIC Upgraded 17.3" Portable Monitor - Mountable, Ultrawide Screen, Wall Mountable, OTG, Flicker-Free, Lightweight, HDMI, 60Hz by Brett Saxena

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works great, good price, small price

• Unpacking was good for an inexpensive portable monitor. Nice looking box with smart cover/stand, monitor itself, 3 decent 1m (39″) cables (USB-C to USB-C, HDMI to HDMI and USB-A to USB-C) plus some warranties and instructional documents. • The monitor is fairly thin and light, with very thin bezels on the top and sides and a 1 inch bezel on the bottom. The monitor is an all-plastic construction with no logo on the front and an anti-glare screen • On the left side of the monitor you'll find a MicroUSB OTG port and 5 protruding metal buttons that control power and allow you to navigate through the settings. Menu. On the right side of the monitor you'll find 2 USB-C ports, a full-size HDMI port and a headphone jack. No touch ability. The built-in speakers are completely inconspicuous. I really wish the USB-C ports weren't on one side and the monitor had touch control functionality • A very typical smart lid/stand with magnetic attachment and flip-out faceplate to control the angle of the monitor. It has a nice non-slip rubberized texture on the outside. • By default, the monitor comes with Power Saving Mode enabled, which means it always turns on at 10% brightness – and at this brightness level, a blurred image looks horrible. Image and extremely poor accuracy of washed out colors. However, if you turn this off, it will turn on at the last selected brightness level. It looks significantly better in the brightness range of 60% to 90%, but color reproduction is never very accurate, colors always appear a bit washed out and the anti-glare coating never produces a very sharp image. It's fine for purely business work on the go, but not something you'll ever want to use for a client presentation or for photo/video purposes. • The monitor has worked flawlessly with multiple Windows and Chrome OS laptops and tablets. I've tried powering or mirroring devices, extending their main screens, or using speakers with no issues. Overall it's decent value for money, very functional but entry-level price and performance. If you want to wow your customers or do photo/video work, you need to spend more money on a more expensive device. But I'd say it's perfectly acceptable for private use on the road.
