Review on CUIUIC Upgraded 17.3" Portable Monitor - Mountable, Ultrawide Screen, Wall Mountable, OTG, Flicker-Free, Lightweight, HDMI, 60Hz by Chuck Henderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Super portable 17.3 inch monitor with full size HDMI!

I'm a big fan of portable monitors, especially those over 15 inches - the performance of a second monitor that you can take with your laptop is tremendous, and you can enjoy the benefits of a small/portable laptop while having a larger screen . Screen on the go when you want/need it. The downside of many portable monitors has been that many of the monitors I've used have used miniHDMI to make them thinner... and ended up not being that thin! So now you need to bring your monitor only dongle/adapter cable. Of course you can use USB-C, but if you want to use an external battery to power the monitor, then you'll need a USB-C port (or if your PC doesn't have a free USB-C port that supports it). can transmit videos). Also, many portable monitors sacrifice image quality for portability. This monitor solves both of those problems - it offers a standard USB-C connector for power and (optional) video, but combines it with a full-size HDMI port - boom... now you can use any old HDMI cable to connect . Or plug your Roku, Revain Stick, or Chromecast directly into your monitor and you're good to go. And it's REALLY very thin - this monitor uses a design that's thinner at the top (where it can be very thin as there are no ports) and only slightly wider at the bottom where the ports are. Even in this "wider" area, it's only a touch wider than the HDMI connector (on its narrow side). And the quality is amazing - here you get HDR and improved contrast (in a 1080p monitor), great colors and surprisingly good response times for a portable device. I wouldn't play fast paced games on it but streaming media looks great and is definitely more than adequate for work, internet etc. Speakers are passable - most laptop speakers are better but good enough to run shows on a streaming flash drive view. and the included case and cables are a great package. Overall, this monitor is a good investment if you need a good second monitor to be productive on the go! (Relatively speaking, of course - you'll still need a table to set it up!)
