Review on πŸ”§ Grommet Guru: Unleashing the Power of MEZOOM's Diameter Setting Projects by Todd Look

Serviceable grommets are held back by poor quality tools and poor instructions

I bought this to place the grommets in a duck fabric and I managed to pierce about 50 grommets, all of them good held up (although some of the fabric around the eyelets was still worn). However, I had to re-sharpen the fabric punch, which was poorly made and not sharp enough to get the job done. Meanwhile, the notch on the side of the fabric punch used to collect die-cut circles of fabric was very sharp (it actually cut my finger). So a fabric punch is sharp where it should be blunt and blunt where it should be sharp. Be careful and be prepared to put this thing where it can be used. Also, the instructions are written in poor English. Most of the use of the product is pretty straightforward, so it's not a big deal. However, this can still cause problems. For example, it is not entirely clear how the spacers should be placed. It says they must "match the hub," but that could mean two things. This could mean that its round side faces outwards like the sleeve. This can also mean that the seal curves must match the bushing curves. As far as I can tell, the second option is correct, but not entirely clear in the instructions. If you need a gasket kit and don't want to pay a lot of money this will get the job done. However, there may be times when your project may be delayed due to the low quality tools included in this set needing repairs.
