Review on Timken 513248 Tapered Wheel Bearing by Chris Munns

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Inspecting a warehouse is challenging because durability is so important.

It is difficult to analyze the bearing because the service life is very important. Timken, the first made in the USA, has a big name. Out of the box the bearing looked fine and turned very smoothly and was said to be made in the USA which is very good. Fits perfectly on my Forester 220k workhorse, at least 500k so any repair must be of the highest quality. I've had great luck with some Japanese bearings (especially over the years), but be wary of some great "Made in China" bearings, most of which aren't. I'll be back in a while, soon if it's bad, in a year or so if it's good.

Pros
  • Spare parts for heavy and commercial vehicles
Cons
  • I will write later
